World Pharmacist Day celebrated with great enthusiasm

JAMMU, Sept 25: Jammu & Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association (JKGPA), Jammu celebrated World Pharmacist Day at Press Club, Jammu under the presidentship of Sushil Sudan (State president JKGPA & executive member of Pharmacy Council of India).
The chief guest of the Programme was Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman (Director General, Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization and Director Health Services, Jammu) and guest of honour was Kulbhushan Singh Chouhan (Ex-Pharmacist). They inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp.
Dr Saleem and Kulbhushan Singh shared their valuable experiences with the pharmacists and also extended their best wishes to all pharmacists of Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh hoping that they will continue to serve the society with great zeal and dedication.
While addressing the gathering, Sushil Sudan urged the pharmacists to serve the suffering humanity with great zeal and zest and always remain on toe to serve the patients.
Dr Sanjay Sharma (Deputy Director Dentistry), Dr Sanjay Turki (Assistant Director Schemes) and JKGPA members including Kamal Jit Sawhney, Jarnail Singh, Jaswinder Singh R P Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Dharminder Singh, Shaffkat Hussain, Madan Lal, Dheraj Malgar, Yougal Bakshi, Rakesh Bakshi, Mahesh Sharma, Prafulat Singh, Pawan Kumar, Pardeep Bali and Asgar ali weer present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura (near Chandigarh) celebrated “World Pharmacist Day” on this year theme “Pharmacy united in action for a Healthier World”. Various activities were organized in which B Pharma and D Pharma students participated enthusiastically.
Dr Krishan Singla, Professor, Aryans College of Pharmacy, while addressing said, that Pharmacists are using their experience, knowledge, and expertise to make the world a better place for everybody. “Moreover, they give access to medicines, advise people on how to properly take them and so much more,” added Singla.
Kalindi Madan, HoD, Aryans College of Pharmacy said that this year’s theme aims to showcase pharmacy’s positive impact on health around the world and to further strengthen solidarity among the profession.
Pharma students participated in poster presentation and skit. A student rally mentioning this year theme was also organized in nearby area to aware everyone about the role of pharmacist.
