JAMMU, Mar 4: World Cancer Care will organize screening and awareness camps in Jammu on Mar 15 and 16, in collaboration with DGPC Jammu and HEWA.
Balvinder Singh vice president DGPC Jammu along with Surjit Singh secretary DGPC Jammu, Harjit Singh, Avtar Singh, Balvinder Singh, Tejinder Singh all members DGPC Jammu while addressing a press conference shared the detail Cancer Screening & Awareness Camp being organized in Jammu City at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on March 15-16, 2025, in collaboration with DGPC Jammu and Health Employees Welfare Association Jammu headed by Ravinder Singh Rosy.
Balvinder stated that this initiative, running from March 15 to March 16, aims to provide free and high-quality cancer screening facilities to ensure better healthcare for the community. He said WCC shall depute advanced mobile units and expert Medical team with a team of 25 experienced Medical professionals in the said camp.
The tests and medical services which shall be provided free of cost at these camps are: Mammography – Breast cancer screening, PAP SMEAR – Cervical cancer screening, PSA Test – Prostate cancer screening (for men), Oral & Throat Examination – Screening for oral and throat cancer, Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Test – Checks bone strength and calcium deficiency, Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Monitoring, besides free general medicines.
Singh further stated that apart from the screening, the camps will focus on educating people about cancer prevention. Informational brochures are distributed, and special awareness lectures by expert doctors are conducted to guide people on lifestyle changes that can help prevent cancer. This unique initiative is a major step toward saving lives and promoting early detection.
Singh also shared details of other such camps being organized at Jammu with effect from March 5 to March 18, 2025 along with the Mobile number of the contact person, on March 5. Guru Ravi Dass Gurudwara ay village Nihalpur Kathua; March 6 by BSF at village Parngoli (HSS School), March 7 PHC Govt Hospital Palli District Samba, March 8 at Sanskriti School Smailpur Kothe, March 9– Ground No-2 Counter, Katra, March 10– Govt Girls Middle School Panthal Katra, March 12, at Pouni Sant Sree Balak Yogeshwar Dass Yagshalla Jammu- Katra Road, March 13 at Ambedkar Hall Marh Jammu, March 14 at New Sabzi Mandi Bishnah by Yuva Helping Hand, and March 14 & 16h at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, at Chand Kour Nagar Jammu on March 18 at Sanskriti School, Kathua.
