KATRA, Apr 29: The School of Electronics and Communication Engineering (SoECE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organized a one-day workshop on Virtual Labs.
The event was coordinated by Dr Vikram Singh, with Dr Purnima serving as the Organizing Secretary, under the guidance of Dr Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, Head, SoECE.
Virtual Labs (VLab) is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at providing remote access to laboratory experiments in various disciplines of science and engineering. It enhances learning by offering an interactive platform where students can perform experiments virtually, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical implementation. Particularly valuable for institutions with limited laboratory facilities, VLab ensures equitable access to high-quality resources across the country.
The workshop featured expert training sessions conducted by Nipun Jain and Aakar Saini (Project Associates) and Pankaj Saini (Project Assistant) from IIT Roorkee.
Around 100 students from the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering (SoECE), School of Electrical Engineering (SoEE), and School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE) participated actively.
The event provided hands-on exposure to Virtual Labs, enabling students to simulate real-time experiments and improve their understanding of core engineering concepts. In addition to the training sessions, the workshop also created opportunities for interaction between students and trainers, and information was shared regarding internship opportunities with the Virtual Labs project, encouraging students to engage in further research and development activities.
