JAMMU, Aug 30: Organised by the Department of Computer Sciences Government SPMR Commerce College, Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu, the 21- day long workshop on communication skills got underway, here today.
Principal of the College Dr JL Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion, while Director Lifelong Learning, Jammu University, Dr Poonam Dhawan was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Poonam Dhawan explained the students as to how the workshop is going to enhance their communication skills and helping them in getting better jobs.
Resource person Nitu Dhar dwelt in length about the personality development methods and explained the course curriculum of the 21-days programme which will help the students in improving their personality. Prof Parveen Singh Head of the Department of Computer Sciences in his introductory note welcomed the chief guest Dr JL Bhagat and other dignitaries and said that in this era of IT the world has become a small networked village where one can gain maximum advantage, but the only criteria is one needs to have proper guidance and education.
Principal Dr Jagdish Lal Bhagat welcomed experts from various fields to the college. He said that this workshop will be very helpful to students for they will be able to enhance their body language and interview facing abilities. He appreciated the effort of Prof Parveen Singh and staff members for taking initiative in organizing such workshops.
Prof Sunil Tikoo, Prof Parshotam Singh, Prof Neeru Bhalla, Prof Namita Singh, Prof Varun Bhatti and Prof Jasvinder were also present on the occasion.
The programme was coordinated by Prof Varun and Prof Namita.
