Workshop on child protection mechanism held

JAMMU, Oct 7: In collaboration with Mission Vatsalaya and Central University of Jammu & in partnership with UNICEF India, National Development Foundation, NDF Jammu organized a consultation workshop for the development of manual on the roles and responsibilities of village level child welfare and protection committees, block level child welfare and protection committees and their linkages with District level child welfare and protection committee at Central university of Jammu.
The registrar of the University Prof. Yashwant Singh inaugurated the workshop, while Mr. Manish Jain Programme director NDF and Dr Nancy Mengi, HOD Social work department CUJ acted as Resource persons. 50 participants including DCPOs, CWC Chairperson and member attended physically while the remaining DCPOs, Chairpersons and Members of the CWCs from across the UT joined online.
Mr. Rajiv Kumar Khajuria Honorary Patron NDF in his key note address set the context of the Consultation rooted in police practice and collective aspiration for safeguarding children right to safety, development and dignity.
Prof Yaswant Singh in his address extended the full cooperation of academia in child protection and asked social work department to constitute a child protection cell in the department
Nazim Zai Khan, Mission Director Mission Vatsalaya gave valedictory remarks online he emphasized on the Need of strengthening family based and community driven child protection mechanism.
