Workers’ bodies raise pending ICDS issues

Srinagar, Dec 2: The All JKSEWWA and All JKICDSSU today pressed for the resolution of several long-pending issues concerning the ICDS/Social Welfare workforce.
The workers’ bodies raised these concerns during a meeting with Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare, Sarmad Hafeez, at the Civil Secretariat here.
The delegation, led by Chairperson and UT president Dr. Abida War and accompanied by general secretary Mushtaq Ahmad and District President Srinagar Tabasum Zargar, highlighted the challenges faced by the workforce.
These included stagnation of supervisors, the need for speedy clearance of the proposal under consideration, amendment of gazetted and non-gazetted recruitment rules, and streamlined career progression for supervisors.
The delegation said that the Commissioner Secretary gave a patient hearing and assured that all genuine issues would be addressed in a time-bound and priority manner.
