JAMMU, Dec 9: Congress candidate from Jammu East Assembly segment, Vikram Malhotra today said that works carried out by the leaders and aspirant politicians at grassroots speak themselves and no one can allure the electorate by showing them skies – the heights that can not be achieved.
“Where was the elected representative from this constituency hiding for last six years? Can any one spell out a single development work carried out by him for the welfare of the people? You have already tested the leaders from various parties that believe in polarizing the society for survival and electoral gains rather than doing something tangible for the people of the land, Vikram said.
He added, “If you want to waste your votes, go with the much-hyped-upon wind and do it, else if you want your bad days to be over, vote for secular minded leaders like I am, who you know have already carried out development works for you and will continue to do so.”
Vikram who was addressing a corner meeting with the people of Jammu East in the localities of Jullaka Mohalla and Ward-10, also appealed the people to attend the rally of Congress president Sonia Gandhi in large number and make it a grand success.
Meanwhile, Lower Moti Bazar Shopkeepers’ Association has extended the support of its members to Vikram Malhotra.
Referring to the poor development in Jammu East, Vikram in his address said that the claimed achievement by the incumbent MLA was apparent from the potholes, dusty and dilapidated roads every where in the constituency.
He appealed to electorates of Jammu East to vote in his favour and press the button with election symbol ‘Hand’ on December 20 on the EVM.
