Lauds security forces, appreciates people’s resilience

Srinagar, July 7: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today accused Pakistan of attempting to derail Jammu and Kashmir’s development journey and sowing discord among communities.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of ‘Harbah Utsav’ at Larkipora Aishmuqam, Sinha said, “Pakistan, a terrorist country, is determined to undo the hard-earned progress made during the last five years in Jammu and Kashmir. It wants to break our unity. We must not allow it to succeed in its nefarious designs,” he said.

Sinha urged people to identify those who are trying to create communal divide at the behest of Pakistan.

“My appeal to the people is to identify and isolate those who, on behalf of the terrorist nation Pakistan, are trying to create a divide on communal lines. They are the enemies of peace and development and we must stand united against such elements, he said.
The LG stressed the only way to defeat the enemy’s agenda is through unity and collective resistance. “We all must fight together against the ill designs of the terrorist country. Police and security forces are playing a crucial role in the fight against terrorism. But the people’s cooperation is equally important,” he added
Sinha emphasised that while the administration is committed to peace and prosperity, this goal can only be achieved when the public actively supports the fight against terrorism.
“We need to provide support and timely information to our police and security agencies so that this menace can be uprooted completely,” he said.
While lauding the efforts of security personnel, the LG appreciated the resilience of the people. “Despite numerous provocations, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown remarkable patience and restraint. We will not allow anyone to divide us,” he said.
Sinha paid obeisance at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple at Teerathraj Lok Bhawan, Anantnag and appreciated efforts of the administration for making dedicated efforts to improve facilities for the pilgrims at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Lok Bhawan. He also extended his best wishes to the devotees for the forthcoming Mahakaal pilgrimage.
Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of his visit, the LG said: “There is an atmosphere of joy across J&K as devotees arrive for the holy Shri Amarnathji Yatra. Muharram processions were taken out peacefully, and today we have gathered here at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple. It’s heartening to see communities celebrating together in unity and mutual respect. This is the true spirit of Jammu Kashmir.”
He participated in the Mahayagya organised by the Teerathraj Sidh Lakshmi Peeth Trust, and prayed for well-being of all and peace and prosperity of Jammu Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the devotees and extended his hearty greetings on the auspicious occasion.
“Teerathraj Lok Bhawan has remained the centre of our devotion and faith since ancient times. It is an occasion to spread awareness about spiritual heritage which emphasises on tolerance and acceptance of other religious traditions, viewing them as different paths leading towards the same ultimate truth,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He emphasised on unity in diversity and urged everyone to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and values of selfless service.
“We must spread the message of compassion, selflessness, and the inherent divinity of all beings. We should encourage young people to treat everyone with respect and dedicate themselves to build a just and humane society,” the Lieutenant Governor further said.
Vidhi Kumar Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; senior officials of Police and Civil Administration, members of Teerathraj Sidh Lakshmi Peeth Trust, prominent citizens and devotees in large numbers were present.
