SAMBA, Nov 30: Stressing that women empowerment is the bedrock of a self-reliant nation, BJP MLA Chander Prakash Ganga, while addressing a women’s conference in Vijaypur under the party’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan”, said that India cannot achieve true self-reliance unless its women become self-reliant.
The programme was aimed at strengthening women’s social, economic and political participation and underscoring their crucial role in shaping a self-reliant India. Ganga asserted that “India’s women power is our greatest asset, and the dream of a self-reliant India will only be realized when every woman receives equal access to education, employment and respect.”
Ganga highlighted that the Modi Government has launched numerous schemes dedicated to empowering women, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, women’s self-help groups, Ladli Beti Yojana, and various self-employment initiatives, all of which are significantly contributing to improving women’s socio-economic status. He reiterated that true development is possible only when half of the nation’s population is empowered.
During the event, participating women were made aware of different Government schemes and encouraged to adopt self-employment to attain economic independence. A large number of local women, social groups and BJP workers attended the conference.
Prominent leaders present included BJP J&K general secretary Sanjita Dogra, BJP J&K Mahila Morcha president Neha Mahajan, BJP J&K vice president Rekha Mahajan, BJP J&K secretary Arun Sharma, senior leader Jai Ram Sharma and Mohan Lal Thapa, who also interacted with the participants and reiterated the party’s commitment to women-led growth.
