Woman killed, 10 injured in road accident

RAMBAN, Apr 14: A woman died here today in a road accident in wee hours while 10 others were injured when the vehicle they all were onboard hit an overhead bridge in Banihal on Srinagar Jammu National Highway.
Police sources informed that the rashly driven vehicle of Bolero (Pickup) make bearing registration number JK11F-9882 carrying a nomad family hit the railway overhead bridge and turned turtle on the road leaving an old lady dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
On getting information about the accident, cops reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sub District Hospital (SDH), Banihal.
Police identified the deceased as Folla Begum, 75, wife of Mohammad Hassan, resident of Chack Teryath, Rajouri.
The injured were identified as driver of the vehicle Mohammad Jammel, son of Mohd Rashid, resident of Rajouri; Rayaz Mohd, 30, son of Hassan, resident of Chack Maithili, Rajouri; Bilal Ahmed, 24, son of Hassan, resident of Chack Maithili, Rajouri; Shahnaz, 25, wife of Bilal, resident of Chack Mithali Teryath; Nazia, 2, daughter of Bilal Ahmed, resident of Chack Mithali; Arsha Begum, 63, wife of Mohd Latief, resident of Hari Chauma, Teryath, Rajouri; Mohd Iqbal, 30, son of Mohd Latief, resident of Hari Chuma Teryath; Abdul Majid, 40, resident of Hari Chuma; Muthiar Ahmed, 15, resident of Teryath and a 10 years boy whose identity is not established.
Police said after providing medical aid all the injured were referred to Government Medical College Hospital Anantnag.
In this regard Police has registered a case in FIR number 38 of 2025 U/S 281/125(a)/106 BNS at Police Station Banihal.
