Woman held for killing man

UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: Police today worked out murder of a man and arrested a woman, who had thrown the half burnt body of the deceased in a nullah.
Police spokesman said that on January 22, 2013, a telephonically call was received by SHO Police Station Chenani from SPO Surinder Singh that a burnt and mutilated dead body of a unknown persons was lying in a nallah at Samroli.
On receiving this information, police registered a case under Section 302 RPC and started investigation. Accordingly, FSL team visited the spot and found a trail of blood leading to the house of one Sushma Devi, wife of Subash Chander alias Pinju of Samroli.
On seeing the police party, Sushma Devi fled from the house. However, after a chase she was caught and questioned. During questioning she revealed that deceased Madan Lal was visiting her house frequently and on the intervening night of January 21 and 22, he again visited her house where he consumed liquor.
After some time, a quarrel took place between them following which Sushma Devi attacked Madan Lal with a sharp edged weapon leading to latter’s death on the spot. Later, she tried to burnt Madan Lal’s dead body but her attempts failed. Thereafter, she dragged the half-burnt dead body of deceased and threw it in the Samroli nallah.
