JAMMU, Dec 31: A 21-years old woman today ended her life by hanging herself at her residence in Railway Colony, East Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Sapna Devi (21) wife of Vikas Choudhary, a resident of Railway Colony, East Jammu, allegedly committed suicide this morning by hanging self with the hook of ceiling fan at her in-laws residence.
On getting information from the family members, a police team from police station, Trikuta Nagar, reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for post mortem.
Later, the body of the deceased was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
The Trikuta Nagar police said that as no suicide note was recovered from the spot, they have registered a case and initiated an inquiry under Section 174 CrPc.
