JAMMU, Jan 24: A 28-year-old woman apparently ended her life by hanging with a ceiling fan at her residence at Sanjay Nagar area here today.
Kajal daughter of Surinder Kumar of Extension 4, Sanjay Nagar, Digiana, Jammu, was found hanging at her residence by some relatives, who informed police, a police official said.
Accordingly, a police team took her to Gandhi Nagar hospital where she was declared as dead on arrival, he said.
According to him, police have shifted the body of the deceased woman to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu while as inquest proceedings under the relevant sections of the law have been initiated to ascertain the reasons as to why the woman took such an extreme step to end her life.
