Woman drug peddler held with intoxicants

JAMMU, Jan 22: Kanachak police today arrested a woman drug peddler and recovered 1400 intoxicants from her possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Kanachak police station laid a naka near Jhiri and intercepted a woman carrying a polythene bag.
On seeing police party, she tried to conceal the bag, he said, adding that during checking of the polythene bag, police recovered 1400 intoxicants.
The woman identified as Soma Devi, wife of Shanker Dass of Dab-Bittan, Kanachak has been arrested, spokesman said, adding that the woman used to sell the intoxicants among the youths residing in border areas of Kanachak.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Kanachak police station and investigation started.
The arrest was made by police party from Kanachak police station led by SHO Rajinder Sharma under the direct supervision of SDPO Sandeep Mehta and Additional SP Rural Rajesh Sharma.
