Woman drug peddler arrested, 27 gm heroin-like-substance seized

JAMMU, Aug 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a woman drug peddler in Bahu Fort, recovering from her possession 27 grams of a heroin-like substance and an electronic weighing machine, officials said.
According to them, the arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into a larger drug network.
Officials said the operation followed the earlier arrest of prime accused Manzoor Ahmed Sofi from Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, on August 12, 2025, with 14 grams of heroin.
During questioning, they said, Sofi disclosed that he sourced the drugs from Shivani of Rajiv Nagar.
Accordingly, a police team led by incharge Police Post Narwal, along with Naib Tehsildar Bahu Fort, searched Shivani’s residence, seized the contraband, and completed all legal formalities, they said.
