Woman drug peddler among 2 nabbed with narcotics

SRINAGAR, June 6: Security forces today arrested two people involved in drug smuggling and peddling in the Karnah area of the district.
Acting on specific information, police said a lady drug smuggler namely Razia Begum alias Bulbul wife of Zakir Hussain Shah, and her acquaintance Aftab Ahmad Shah son of late Altaf Ahmad Shah were arrested.
“Both are residents of Takiya Bahadurkote and were on way to sell narcotics among the youth of Karnah.”
In this regard, police said a joint Naka was established by in-charge Police Post Teetwal G M Bhat including lady Police officials and local Army unit 6 JAK RIF in presence of local Executive Magistrate Chamkote.
“During Naka checking the duo was apprehended and heroin-like substances weighing 35 grams & 43 grams respectively were recovered from their possession.”
Pertinent to mention here that the husband of the lady drug smuggler and her two brothers are already in jail for their involvement in narcotics smuggling from across the LoC.
