RAMBAN, Dec 2: A middle aged woman, who was working as casual labour in Municipal Committee Banihal died under mysterious circumstances here today.
As per police sources, a woman identified as Nagina Bano (45), wife of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Nagbal Banihal had gone to the office of Municipal Committee Banihal to get his pending wages as she was working as casual labour there.
The lady collapsed in the office of the Municipal Committee and was rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
The body of the deceased lady was handed over to the family members after medical examination and police started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in this regard.
Meanwhile, family members of Nagina held protest demonstration and demanded action against the persons behind, who forced the lady to take extreme step of inhaling some poisonous substance.
The family members along the body of the deceased blocked the vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, seeking action against clerk of Municipal Committee Muneer Ahmed for forcing Nagina to take this extreme step.
After getting information, SDM Banihal Farooq Ahmed Qazi and police team led by SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq Khan rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors. They assured the protestors of strict action against the persons, who will be found guilty.
After the assurance, the protestors dispersed and the vehicular movement on the National Highway was restored.
