POONCH, Jan 30: A middle aged woman was killed in a hit-and run case in Shendara area of distruct Poonch late this evening.
Official sources said that 45-year-old woman died when an unknown truck hit her at Shendara in District Poonch. She was left critically injured on the road side and the truck driver fled the spot along with vehicle. She was rushed to the District Hospital Poonch after accident by the locals of the area where she was declared as `brought dead’.
The victim was identified as Hamida Bi, wife of Mohd Akber, a resident of Shendara.
Medical Superintendent, Dr Shafiq said that the woman was brought dead in the hospital. The body was handed over to the family for last rites after all legal formalities.
Meanwhile, the police said they have taken cognizance of the matter and were trying to identify the seize the vehicle.
