SAMBA, Sept 26: A tragic incident was reported from Khristu Jyoti Hospital in Diyani, Samba, today where a woman died after giving birth to twins.
The deceased has been identified as Rajni Sharma, wife of Parveet Sharma, a resident of Hamirpur, Rajbhag in Kathua district.
According to family members, Rajni had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past three months and was called for a womb operation on Thursday.
The family, overjoyed with the hope of welcoming children after 11 years, accompanied her to the hospital.
Rajni successfully delivered twins, both of whom are reportedly healthy.
However, her condition deteriorated soon after delivery.
She was referred to AIIMS Vijaypur for advanced treatment, but unfortunately, she succumbed there.
Following her death, her body was shifted to District Hospital Samba for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family for cremation.
The bereaved family has accused the hospital administration of gross negligence.
The family has appealed to the authorities to ensure justice and initiate legal proceedings against the hospital.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigation.
