RAMBAN, Feb 7: A 55-year-old woman was critically injured here today after she was hit by a vehicle at Bowli Bazar near Raghu Nath Chowk.
According to Police, the incident took place at about 7 pm when a vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-9080 was coming from Maitra and moving towards Ramban in a rash and negligent manner. On reaching Bowli Bazar, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it hit a pedestrian.
The injured woman was identified as Vidya Devi, wife of Karan Singh, resident of Karshun, Tehsil Pogal Paristan, originally from Ukharal and presently residing near Makhan Dhaba.
She sustained critical injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted by passersby to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
The vehicle was driven by Mohd Murtaza, son of Abdul Qadeer Chandail, resident of Trigam, Tehsil Khari, District Ramban.
Police has registered a case in this regard in FIR No. 26/2026 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of BNS at Police Station Ramban and started investigation.
