JAMMU, Nov 13: A woman today sustained serious burn injuries due to an accidental fire at her residence in Jagti (Nagrota) area of city outskirts while as a bike-borne youth was injured in a road mishap at RS Pura area.
A police spokesperson said that the woman identified as Sonia Dhar (44) wife of Avtar Krishan, a resident of Jagti (Nagrota), received about 60% burn injuries due to stove blast at her residence.
He said the injured woman was immediately shifted by the family members to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where her condition was stated to be critical.
Meanwhile, a youth identified as Manjeet Singh (22) son of Gandharv Singh, a resident of Bhaderpur in Bishnah area, was seriously injured when the bike on which he was traveling, was hit by an unknown vehicle at RS Pura. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
