JAMMU, Jan 11: Directorate of School Education Jammu today ordered extension of winter vacations for schools in Summer Zone, till January 14, 2026.

“Due to inclement weather conditions, the Winter Vacations for all Government and Private Schools falling in Summer Zone are hereby extended till 14-01-2026,” read the order in this regard.
According to Director School Education, Dr Naseem Javid Chowdhary, the winter vacations have been extended till January 14 for the teachers also.
Pertinent to mention that today’s order has been issued in continuation of the earlier order No. 458-DSEJ of 2025, dated 13-12-2025, according to which, the winter vacations were announced until January 10, but requiring teaching staff to report back on January 10.
