JAMMU, July 6: Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) and Dogra Samaj Trust (DST) Mumbai today vowed to work unitedly for the upliftment and rights of the Dogra community during a special meeting held in Jammu. The meeting witnessed significant participation from Dogra leaders and community representatives who discussed key issues concerning Dogra identity, heritage and cultural preservation.
Sangeeta Jaitley, daughter of former J&K Finance Minister late Girdhari Lal Dogra and wife of former Union Finance Minister late Arun Jaitley, was the chief guest. She was joined by YRS president Vikram Singh Vicky, former president Rajan Singh Happy, spokesperson and media advisor Vishal Singh, senior vice-president Mandeep Singh, Jammu district president Avtar Singh and DST members Nidhi Dogra, Manu Dogra, Nidhi Gupta and Sunil Gupta.
Acknowledging the relentless efforts of YRS, especially for securing a public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, Sangeeta Jaitley said the fight led by YRS will be remembered in golden letters and urged the Sabha to continue voicing the concerns of the Dogra community.
Under Vikram Singh Vicky’s leadership, the YRS honoured Sangeeta Jaitley and DST members with a photo frame of Maharaja Hari Singh, calling him a symbol of Dogra pride. Singh asserted that like other communities work for their development, YRS too will ensure Dogra contributions to the history of J&K are preserved and promoted.
Rajan Singh Happy called for unity among all stakeholders, stressing that collective efforts are key to securing the future of the community.
The meeting also addressed the status of J&K, protection of Dogra heritage sites, promotion of Dogra language and culture, and inclusion of Dogra history in educational curricula. Emphasis was laid on educating the younger generation about Dogra pride and sacrifices.
