Will cut off legs of any aggressor invading country: Iran military

TEHRAN, March 31: Iran has threatened the United States, saying it will “cut offthe legs” of any aggressor” attempting to invade the country. The warning came after US President Donald Trump openly stated that his “preference would be to take the oil” in Iran, targeting its strategic Kharg Island export hub.

The Pentagon has reportedly been preparing for weeks for limited ground operations in Iran, including raids on Kharg Island and coastal sites near the Strait of Hormuz.

A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that the country’s armed forces will respond strongly, using the term “cutting off the legs” of any invader, according to Iranian state media Press TV.

Iran warned that it is ready and “waiting” for a ground invasion, amid the arrival of thousands of additional US troops in the region.

According to reports, the US has prepared for a limited invasion that could involve raids by both special operations forces and conventional infantry.

Meanwhile, Chechen military units have announced their readiness to deploy to Iran to support Iranian forces in the event of a US ground invasion, Press TV reported.

These forces, loyal to Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Russia’s Chechen Republic, describe the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran as a religious war.

This development comes following orders from President Donald Trump that US is pushing for a ground offensive after recent air operations failed to achieve their objectives.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has also issued warning to the US that any hostile action against Iran will be met with a powerful response. He emphasised that the Iranian people are prepared not only to defend their rights but also to make adversaries regret their actions.

Ghalibaf accused opponents of spreading misleading reports to advance their own agendas, describing these efforts as psychological operations or “soft war” intended to destabilize Iran.

In a post on X, he wrote: “The enemy promotes its desires as news while threatening our nation at the same time. Big mistake. If they hit one, they’ll take several back. God willing, the people of Iran, under the leadership of the Supreme Leader, will make the enemy regret the aggression and reclaim their rights.”

Earlier this week, Ghalibaf warned against pre-market “news” campaigns aimed at manipulating markets for profit, describing them as deliberate tools used by Iran’s adversaries amid ongoing regional tensions. He advised investors to act contrary to such manipulative signals.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told media at the White House that Operation Epic Fury is “moving ahead successfully and according to plan,” noting more than 11,000 targets have been hit and Iranian ballistic and drone attacks are down by 90 per cent.

Tensions in West Asia are flaring, as the buildup of US troops near Iran has raised speculation of a possible ground attack. The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday night that Trump is weighing a risky operation to extract nearly 1,000 pounds of weapons-grade uranium from Iran.
