JAMMU, Oct 7: Wildlife Week celebration in the Department of Zoology, University of Jammu (JU), concluded today.
The celebration under the theme ‘Giving wings to wildlife conservation’ began in the Department of Zoology on October 3 as a part of environment awareness campaign.
The week-long celebration included the events such as conservation pledge on Day 1 and screening of films on wildlife conservation and poster making as well as slogan writing competitions on Day 2 and essay writing competitions on Day 3. It was followed by plantation drive in collaboration with Eco Riders Club.
The programme culminated today with a mass conservation rally and a ‘Nukked Natak’ on wildlife conservation performed by MSc students of Zoology Department.
As a pledge towards wildlife conservation, the Department of Zoology held a conservation pledge signature campaign that was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof RD Sharma.
