DODA, Oct 16: Bringing relief to the local residents, Wildlife Protection Department here today captured a leopard in Parmaz area.
The beast has spread panic in the area for the past few days.
Acting promptly on public reports and after continuous monitoring of the area, a team from Wildlife Range Doda under the supervision of Wildlife Warden Chenab Division, M.S Jamwal, installed a trap cage at a strategic location.
The operation was carried out with utmost care and professionalism to ensure the safety of both the animal and the local populace.
Ultimately, the leopard, which was roaming around various parts of Doda town and adjoining areas was captured safely.
The Wildlife Protection Department has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid venturing close to forest edges, especially during dawn and dusk hours.
Citizens were also requested to immediately inform the Department in case of any future sightings of such animals to ensure timely response and safe handling.
