KATHUA, Nov 12: A young couple received serious burn injuries under mysterious circumstances at their residence in Patel Nagar area of the town here this evening.
A police spokesman said that Neelam Devi, wife of Ghar Singh, resident of Barnoti, presently residing at rented accommodation at Patel Nagar Kathua, set her- self on fire by using kerosene oil after a tiff with husband this evening. Ghar Singh noticed wife burning and tried to douse the fire. During the process, he also suffered nearly 50 percent burn injuries. The neighbours came out for help and shifted both to district hospital, Kathua. The wife with 80 % burn injuries was referred to GMC, hospital Jammu. The police registered a case and started investigation.
