JAMMU, Nov 18: Terming the rise of white-collar terrorism as an extremely dangerous trend that must be uprooted before it corrodes institutions and endangers national security, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive member Raman Suri said that revelations emerging from the ongoing investigation into the recent Delhi bombings are shocking and a decisive crackdown on this network is a must before this trend mutates.
He said that even the Chief Justice of India has repeatedly emphasised the need to identify and dismantle sophisticated, non-traditional terror ecosystems operating under professional covers.
Raman Suri said that the Jammu and Kashmir police, in close coordination with other security agencies, launched a focused operation soon after the Delhi incident to dismantle the White-collar terror module believed to be linked to the blast. The late-night action by the Counter Intelligence Wing, which led to the detention of a female doctor for questioning, sheds light on a deeply disturbing shift. “Doctors who are symbols of trust, compassion and life being implicated in terror networks is a shameful and alarming development. Their involvement has the potential to permanently taint the medical profession,” Suri said.
