SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said a BJP candidate, who has threatened to pick up gun over Article 370, has allegedly slapped a polling officer in the uptown.
In his tweet, Mr Abdullah said “The BJP candidate in Srinagar who earlier threatened to pick up a gun over Art 370 now slaps a polling officer. Well done.” Official reports and eyewitnesses said BJP candidate from Amira Kadal Dr Hina Bhat slapped a polling officer at Chanapora in uptown during her visit there. Dr Hina, who is daughter of Mohammad Shafi Bhat, who represented the Amira Kadal constituency in 1996 and become MP from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency on National Conference ticket, had to face wrath of NC workers, who were present in the area.
However, security forces saved the situation after NC and BJP workers shouted slogans against each other, they said. (AGENCIES)
