This has reference to the news item ‘Avail maximum benefit from Govt schemes’ DE Jan 14.
The news item reflects the concern of the Dy Chief Minister towards the welfare of people.
However, it may said here that these schemes will not bear fruit unless people are made aware of the schemes floated by the Government from time to time. Since our remote areas are not well connected either through roads or internet, people remain unaware of these schemes. The benefit of these schmes are availed of by the people working in a particular department or the planners who float these schemes.
The Government should give much publicity to these schemes by publishing them through newspapers and through media centres in Panchayats. The Government should constitute a committee which may visit villages to ensure that the people there get aware of these schemes. Only then it is possible that benefits may percolate to concerned masses.
