JAMMU, Dec 21: In an effort to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Sanatan Dharma, the Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust today organized its 35th session of the “Gyan-Yagy” Vedic Pathshala at the Sankat Mochan Panchmukhi Shree Hanuman Mandir, BC Road, Jammu.
The initiative, led by Pawan Kumar Shastri, President of the Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, saw the enthusiastic participation of 60 students, mostly in their teenage.
The session focused on the comprehensive recitation and understanding of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Shree Hanuman Chalisa, and Sunderkand Path, alongside broader teachings on Dharma-Karma.
“By introducing these timeless values at a young age, we empower the next generation to connect with their roots and carry forward the legacy of Sanatan Dharma,” said Pawan Kumar Shastri.
He emphasized that the initiative is designed to foster identity, community, and spiritual growth, ensuring cultural continuity.
The Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, under Shastri’s leadership, has long been a pillar of philanthropy in the region.
The Trust operates a prominent Yatri Bhawan in Haridwar, featuring 150 AC rooms for pilgrims and a free Langar Seva that has served 600-700 devotees daily since 1995.
In Jammu, the Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir has similarly become a spiritual hub. The complex provides free Langar three times a day to over 500 pilgrims, while learned Pandits perform elaborate daily rituals.
Sanskrit scholars Arun Shastri and Dr Ajay Shastri noted that Pawan Kumar Shastri has been a driving force in establishing Vedic classes across the division.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Sukhdev Sharma, Working Committee Member (WCM), along with the Incharge and staff of the Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust.
