JAMMU, Apr 15: As a part of its research based nationwide campaign for obesity management, Patanjli Yogpeeth Haridwar, Jammu Kashmir Unit, today started a week long Yoga shiver.
The Minister for Industries and commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga was the chief guest on the occasion while Health Minister Bali Bhagat was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ganga appreciated the initiative of Patanjli Yogpeeth and said that these shivers are very beneficial for the persons who are obese. Minister said that our unhealthy lifestyle, that includes overeating and sedentary behaviour, is the root cause of obesity and many other complications.
Health Minister Bali Bhagat said that the Yoga practices of Swami Ramdev are very helpful in decreasing weight and for healthy life.
On the occasion, the Trust State president, Bansi Lal said that this pilot project has been started in 60 districts of all over country. In J&K, two such research based programs have been launched in Jammu and Kathua. The places decided for Jammu shivers are Hari Mandir, Rehari Colony Jammu and Radha Krishan Mandir Hall Raipur Satwari Jammu. The participants of the each group will receive yoga practice and dietary advice. In the first phase of this week long yoga camp on obesity management will be conducted by the five member expert team.
The registration for the program will be based on first come first serve basis. The forms for the registration are available on all Patanjli Arogaya Kendras, Chakistalyas and Patanjli District office at Rameshwer Temple, Purani Mandi Jammu and District Office Kathua.
