Webinar on ‘Simulation of Power Converters Using Python’ held

JAMMU, June 11: Faculty and students of Government Polytechnic College Jammu today participated in one day webinar on ‘Simulation of Power Converters Using Python’.
The webinar was conducted by Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Nandyal, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh and was attended by participants from all over India.
During the webinar, experts from eminent institutions across India delivered online lectures.
The expert Dr. M. Kaliamoorthy, Associate Professor Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi Tamil Nadu, enlightened the participants about latest programming languages in computers especially Python, its installation of application, installation of Numpy packages, importing packages into Python etc.
The main focus of the webinar was to familiarize the participants about the installation and setting up of Python, simulating a basic resistive circuit, how inductors and capacitors form energy storage elements in power electronic circuits, the working of a diode using simulations, building a rectifier step by step using simulations, simulating a buck converter and so on.
Speaking on the occasion Principal of Govt Polytechnic College Jammu, Arun Bangotra emphasised on current trends towards latest technologies of Computer Engineering and termed online webinars as a great platform for the exchange of ideas and programming skills.
