WCWS organizes free multi-disciplinary medical camp

JAMMU, Feb 10: The We Care Welfare Society (WCWS), a self-funded organization today organized a free medical camp in the rural village of Changiya (Arniya), Phagetra Devsthan.
The camp was aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the underprivileged communities, particularly BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.
Renowned doctors from different specialties provided their expertise to over 300 patients.
Eye specialist doctors from the esteemed Sood Eye Centre, Jammu, including Dr Sheikh Asif Rasool, examined patients suffering from various eye-related issues.
A total of 115 patients were treated for eye ailments and 27 individuals were screened for cataract surgery, which will be performed in the coming days at the Sood Eye Care Centre, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr R K Gupta, president of WCWS, thanked all the medical professionals and volunteers for their free services, emphasizing the society’s mission to improve healthcare access for rural and marginalized populations.
He also highlighted the self-funded nature of WCWS, which relies on the contributions of its members and the public to fund its social welfare programs.
Rajinder Gupta, General Secretary of WCWS, shared a comprehensive overview of the society’s activities and efforts to support the general public.
Sudershan Gupta, Vice President of WCWS, played an instrumental role in the registration process and particularly assisted the women patients throughout the camp.
Dr Arvind Sharma, Senior Physician from Medanta Hospital Gurgaon, conducted health checkups for general health concerns, while Dr M A Mam, Senior Orthopedic Surgeon, attended to patients with orthopedic problems.
The camp also benefitted from the expertise of Dr Arun Dhotra, Gastroenterologist and Dr Nidhi Thakur, Gynecologist, both from Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity, Jammu, who provided specialized treatment to patients with gastric and female health issues, respectively.
In addition to expert consultations, the camp also offered a variety of health services, including ECG, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar tests and eye examinations using the latest equipment.
Free medicines and spectacles were provided to the patients.
