Wazir suggests grand Navratra Festival to attract tourists

KATRA, Aug 30: President of Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra, Rakesh Wazir held a meeting with Secretary Tourism and Floriculture, Farooq Ahmed Shah wherein Director Tourism Sushma Chouhan, Deputy Director Tourism Shushil Atri and other Tourism officials were also present.
Mr Wazir said that keeping in view the sudden fall of tourism in J&K State due to Kashmir turmoil and to end the persumption from the minds of people that conditions are not normal in the whole State, the Navratra Festival this year should be held with even greater fan fare and publicity than previous years so that tourism be brought back on track.
Mr Wazir also hoped that opening of the Food Craft Institute at Nagrota will prove to be the major skilled man power supplier in the State. He further said that the pending Tourism projects of Katra, including light & sound, illumination of Katra Railway Station to Ambica Hotel Chowk and Varun Chowk be expedited.
Farooq Shah listened to Mr Wazir very patiently and gave on spot directions for starting the preparations of the Navratra Festival in a big way besides holding the press conference with regard to that at Delhi on 7th Oct. He further elaborated that illumination work will be started on Railway station to Ambica Chowk and Varun Hotel Chowk very shortly.
