Sir,
The article “Indian Water is Pakistan’s Jugular Vein” rightly highlights a long-overdue recalibration of India’s strategic posture. For decades, India’s patience under the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) was mistaken for weakness, while Pakistan continued its proxy war. The recent Pahalgam massacre must be a turning point. Holding the IWT “in abeyance” is a measured yet powerful signal: water, India’s greatest leverage, must no longer flow unconditionally. Pakistan’s agrarian economy depends heavily on Indian waters, yet it offers terrorism in return. If Kashmir is deemed Pakistan’s jugular vein, it’s time Pakistan realized that the true lifeline is the water flowing from Indian rivers. A consistent, credible message must now echo: peace ensures water; terror ensures thirst. India doesn’t need war-water is its strongest weapon of peace and pressure. Let rivers flow, but only with responsibility.
