JAMMU, Mar 27: In a vibrant celebration of Dogri culture, the children’s wing of “Watch O Suno Dogri” today organized a “Kaahn Sakhi” competition, marking the culmination of Chaitra Navratri.
This ancient Dogri tradition saw young girls dressing up as Mother Durga, showcasing their talents to get ready as an incarnation of Goddess Durga.
The event, entirely planned and executed by the young members of Watch O Suno Dogri, featuring Samriddhi Sharma, the Brand Child of Watch O Suno Dogri, as the chief guest, and Tamanna as the special guest. They judged the competition and distributed prizes.
Vaaruni Sharma secured the first position, followed by Priyanshi and Maanya Chib in second and third places, respectively. All the participants received tokens of appreciation.
Throwing light on the competition, founder of the Watch O Suno Dogri, Jagmohan Sharma emphasized that Watch O Suno Dogri aims to promote not only the Dogri language but also the region’s rich traditions, customs, and art. He announced plans for a storytelling competition in near future for children up to 15 years old.
