JAMMU, Dec 26: Celebrating dedicated contributors to Dogri language, art and culture, Watch O Suno Dogri today conferred its prestigious annual “Tunde Par Maan Hai” Awards for 2025 in a function held here today.
The event was graced by eminent Dogri poet and writer Padma Shri Dr Jitendra Udhampuri as the chief guest, while renowned Dogri writer Padma Shri Mohan Singh attended as the guest of honour.
The function was presided over by Padma Shri Lalit Magotra, president, Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
This year’s awards were presented to Raj Kumar Behrupia, a multifaceted personality known for his motivational Dogri reels, Juhi Mohan, a popular RJ and theatre artist and Dr Vikas Padha and Ajay Khajuria, anchors of the acclaimed Tawi Tales podcast.
Speaking on the occasion, founder of Watch O Suno Dogri, Jagmohan Sharma said, “Tawi Tales was selected for effectively showcasing diverse Dogri personalities through digital podcasts. Juhi Mohan was honoured for her FM 92.7 show “Sandookhdi” and her pioneering 90-minute Dogri play “Chainchalo”, while Rajkumar Behrupia was recognised for creatively promoting Dogri through motivational content.”
The “Tunde Par Maan Hai” award, presented annually on Dogri Maanta Diwas, includes a memento and a shawl and aims to honour unsung contributors.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Lalit Magotra lauded the initiative for inspiring grassroots efforts, while Padma Shri Dr Jitendra Udhampuri urged youth to actively contribute to Dogri.
Padma Shri Mohan Singh appreciated the recognition of lesser-known Dogri enthusiasts.
