SRINAGAR, Mar 20: National Conference president and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, today called for an immediate end to the ongoing war between Iran and the United States of America-Israel, warning of serious global and economic consequences.
Speaking after offering prayers on the last Friday of Ramadan at the Dargah Hazratbal shrine, Abdullah said the day holds deep spiritual significance and should be a moment to pray for peace and humanity. He expressed concern over the escalating war, saying it has caused “deep dissatisfaction” not only globally but also within India.

He also warned that the economic impact of the war would be severe. “It will have a very severe impact, not only in our country but across the world,” he said, referring to rising global tensions and disruptions.
Referring to global leadership, Abdullah said that while figures like Donald Trump had earlier played roles in advocating ceasefires, the present situation remains complex. However, he stressed faith in a higher power, saying “Allah’s power is greater,” and expressed hope that peace would ultimately prevail.
He urged people to seek forgiveness and pray for an end to suffering, hoping that collective prayers would help bring stability amid the ongoing crisis.
