POONCH, June 28: The police arrested an absconder who was wanted in a criminal case by Mendhar police after the lapse of ten years.
SSP Poonch, Dr Vinod Kumar said that police has launched a drive to arrest the absconding accused who are evading their arrest since long time. Under this drive, a special team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar, Zaheer Abass Jafferi on Monday which intercepted one absconder namely- Mahobbat Ali, son of Mohammad Sadiq, resident of village Kasbalari, in Tehsil Mankote who was arrested.
Absconder was involved in case FIR No. 118/2011 u/s 353/336/147/148 RPC of Mendhar police station.
The accused was evading his arrest from last ten years with a warrant under section 512 CrPC(now 299 CrPC) was also issued against him by JMIC Mendhar. After completing all legal formalities, he will be produced before the court, police said.
