JAMMU, June 28: Voluntarily retired employees of J&K Road Transport Corporation held strong protest demonstration and dharna against the RTC Management and J&K Transport Department authorities near Press Club of Jammu in support of their demands.
Led by VRS Union president, Dev Raj Bali, the retired / VRS given JKRTC workers were shouting slogans against the Transport authorities for not releasing the pending dues of the VRS given employees. They were carrying banner in hands and projecting their demands.
They alleged that in the BOD meeting held in the recent past, the Managing Director has not placed the case of arrears of the VRS accorded employees of the JKRTC. They have deceived the VRS Union as despite assurances their case was put in the cold storage. Their case has already been delayed by 12 years and during this period about 75 VRS/ retired employees have breathed their last but they were denied the benefits of COLA and others arrears.
They appealed to the Prime Minister Modi and Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and issue directions to the concerned authorities to provide justice to the agitating VRS given JKRTC workers.
Bali said they have not been paid their COLA, DA and 6th Pay Commission arrears by the JKRTC authorities despite the fact that Central Government has paid an amount of Rs 76.95 crore to them including payment of the arrears of the more than 700 employees. Their total DA amount comes out to around Rs 66.24 crores.
Bali was accompanied by Sat Bhushan Singh, Ramesh Bhau, Balwinder Singh, P P Singh Surinder Kumar and others.
