JAMMU, Nov 5: A protest demonstration by VRS employees of State SRTC was held today at office of GM, SRTC, under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali, president, VRS Union, for not clearing their pending dues.
The protesters were shouting slogans in support of their demands. The protesting VRS employees strongly criticized the discriminative attitude of SRTC and higher authorities of Transport Department towards VRS and GHS employees of State SRTC.
“It is very strange that COLA arrears was accepted by the Finance Department, but for the time being only Rs 13,3961176 is being released by the Finance Department that too in four installments in favour of VRS/GHS 677 employees of J&K SRTC. Surprisingly, one installment is transferred to the J&K SRTC ”, said Dev Raj Bali.
He also reiterated other demands of the Association, which include clearing pending installments of COLA since 1999, bonus @ 8.33 % on the basic pay, implementation of one rank one pension in the Public Sector in J&K and 6th Pay Commission arrears with effect from January 1, 2006.
