RAJOURI, Dec 10: Former Minister and MLA Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Khan today said that overall development of the area is the primary motto of the Congress party.
Addressing various public meetings at Androoth, Chapprian, Muradpur and Dhanni Dhar Shabir Khan exhorted the people to vote in favour of Congress party to revive the process of development of Jammu & Kashmir. He reminded that the actual development took place only when Congress led by Mr Azad was in power in the State. He hailed the statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad issued yesterday at Ghambir Brahmana that  Congress is the only party which addressed the problems being faced by the people and the actual development of Jammu & Kashmir took place during the regime of Ghulam Mohd Bakshi or his regime as the Chief Minister.
Mr Khan claimed that his party is people- friendly, which not only worked at State level but also launched mega schemes like MGNAREGA, NRHM, RGGVY, IAY, I-ARDRP and many more for the welfare of public. Khan said that current Five Year Plan in which special focus was kept on Health and Education sector, UPA-II made massive and unprecedented investments to strengthen and expand health and educational systems in Jammu and Kashmir for the benefit of general public. Up-gradation of  number of schools recently in various areas of Rajouri constituency besides sanctioning of New Health Centers is a live example.
The Congress MLA said that those who remained elected representatives for many years could not achieve the development targets and kept Rajouri constituency in dark. He claimed that the development which has been brought in the last six years can be compared with the past 30 years. Khan said Congress is emerging as trusted and credible voice of people of J&K.  He  reiterated that  opportunities for the unemployed youth of this belt shall be explored. He assured the people that members of both majority and minority would be equally treated. Congress is secular and the agenda of his party is to fulfill wishes and aspirations of all sections of society.
He said regional parties like NC or PDP have limited vision and they exploit people on hollow slogans and BJP is playing divide and rule politics, which shall ruin the State. The people of J&K cannot expect anything good from the BJP. Therefore, instead of splitting their votes, people should vote in favour of Congress candidates to experience the real development.
