MARWAH (Kishtwar), Aug 14: Expressing serious concern over the pathetic condition of people living in backward and far-flung areas of  Kishtwar and elsewhere in the State, Jammu and Kashmir  Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that vote bank politics is not going to help PDP-BJP coalition.
Addressing workers’ meeting in remote Nawapachi area of Marwah block in Kishtwar, PCC chief said that  people are the worst hit and feel isolated in absence of road connectivity, shortage of ration and  lack of basic amenities and infrastructure. There   are no teachers available in schools, health centers are without doctors, worst is the condition of roads and most of the staff does not attend respective offices. The public has been left to suffer badly.
Accusing  PDP-led Coalition Govt for failing to address the multiple problems people are facing, Mir said that Coalition Govt  was deliberately neglecting the people living in far-flung areas of Kishtwar district and elsewhere. Worst condition of people in these areas is indicative of non- serious and callous attitude of Coalition Govt about the  issues confronting  people, he said.
PCC chief expressed surprise over the non- availability of  teachers in school, doctors in health centres, shortage of ration and said that Coalition Govt led by PDP was indulging in vote bank politics,  ignoring people in far flung areas on political grounds. Issues  confronting  people are not being addressed. Mir said  Coalition Govt must not forget  that people of all the three regions are equal and deserve equal treatment without any sort of disparity or discrimination.
He exhorted the party workers to reach out to the people and remain steadfast in their service to the best of their ability and identify the problems confronting people for their resolution. Mir further said that Congress Party will not compromise on people issues and development of the regions, it (Congress) will fight for equitable development of the regions and people and is committed to address urges and aspiration of the people in all the three regions of the State.
Those who addressed the meeting included MLA,  GM Saroori, MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, MLA- Gulzar Ahmad Wani,  Farooq Andrabi, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Mohd Iqbal Mir and others.
