BENGALURU, Dec 11: Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India set a new benchmark in the country’s infrastructure sector with the debut of the EC215 “Made in Bharat” excavator at EXCON 2025, South Asia’s largest construction equipment event.
The company’s showcase, themed “Bharosa Har Mod Par – Trust At Every Turn,” highlighted India-focused innovation, sustainability-driven solutions, and technology designed to power the nation’s next wave of construction, mining, and material-handling growth.
The EC215, the centerpiece of Volvo CE’s exhibition, follows the success of the EC210 launched last year. Built for India’s diverse and demanding work environments, the EC215 carries the tagline “Zyada Ka Vaada” and represents Volvo CE’s next leap in delivering high-efficiency medium excavators for India. The company claims it extends the Zyada philosophy across the 20-22T class, promising outstanding performance, fuel efficiency, uptime, and value for infrastructure projects.
Speaking at EXCON, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India, said: “EXCON 2025 reflects our continued focus on delivering solutions that address the real needs of the Indian market. The EC215 is built on insights gathered from customers operating across India, delivering stronger productivity and improved fuel efficiency where it matters most.”
“With our compactors and electric wheel loaders on display, we are enabling customers to transition responsibly toward technologies that reduce emissions and operating costs over time. Our commitment is to stay closely aligned with India’s infrastructure priorities and support that journey through reliable, future-ready technology,” he stated.
Volvo CE also unveiled the SD110 Compactor, offering long-term reliability for road-building projects, and the L120 Electric Wheel Loader, India’s most advanced commercially available electric loader, underlining the company’s push toward zero-emission construction solutions. The event concluded with the pre-launch reveal of the EC650, its first appearance in India, positioned to redefine heavy excavation for large construction and mining operations.
In addition to machinery, Volvo CE highlighted its holistic service ecosystem, which includes Equipment-as-a-Service offerings, digital machine monitoring, operator skill development programs, productivity management solutions, and live support services. These initiatives aim to maximize fleet utilization, reduce downtime, and ensure optimal machine performance across the lifecycle.
Further emphasising India’s strategic role, Volvo CE announced progress on its Bengaluru Technology Centre, which will focus on research, development, localization, and product innovation for both domestic and global markets. This investment reinforces India’s position in Volvo CE’s global innovation network and the company’s commitment to safety, performance, and sustainability in the construction equipment sector.
EXCON 2025 thus showcased Volvo CE India’s ambition to deliver future-ready, India-centric solutions, combining cutting-edge equipment, sustainability, and technology-led services to support the nation’s infrastructure ambitions. (UNI)
