Srinagar, Jan 12: Vocational trainers today staged a protest here demanding a proper job policy as well as an increment in their monthly salary which has been the same since their appointment over five years ago.
Scores of such trainers-who are over 1200 in number across J&K-appeared in the Press Enclave and were seen raising slogans in the favour of their demands, impressing that they have been appointed through a proper channel but have not been able to see any growth.
“We were appointed in 2016 through a proper channel; we have appeared in the written exam and before the selection, we have been interviewed as well and then sent to various higher secondary schools; but since 2016 to 2022 there hasn’t been any proper job policy framed for us,” said one of the protestors.
They said that they were given Rs 20,000/- salary after their appointment, “since then, we get the same salary even as the workload has increased considerably,” they said.
The Vocational trainers said that at the time of their appointment, they used to teach only class 9, “but right now, we are teaching 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, but the salary is the same,” they said.
The trainers demanded replication of job policy framed by the Haryana Govt for the Vocational Trainers.
