
BJP honours participants in Swadeshi Mela

SRINAGAR, Jan 8: BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul today emphasized that the “Vocal for Local” campaign is a core pillar of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, which seeks to make India self-reliant by empowering local producers and small entrepreneurs.
Addressing a function at party office here today in connection with honouring of the participants of “Swadeshi Mela” to encourage the persons involved in indigenous enterprise and grassroots economic empowerment with the aim of “vocal for Local” he said that supporting local artisans is not merely an economic initiative but also a social responsibility to preserve traditional crafts, generate employment, and ensure sustainable development at the grassroots level. He reiterated BJP’s firm commitment to creating platforms that provide visibility, market access, and encouragement to local talent, particularly in Jammu & Kashmir.
Besides Ashok Koul, BJP State general secretary, Anwar Khan, State secretary, Arif Raja, All Cells co-incharge, Bilal Parray, district president, BJP Srinagar, Sheikh Salman, and other senior party leaders honoured the participants of “Swadeshi Mela” programme held recently at Srinagar.
The participants of “Swadeshi Mela” were honoured for showcasing locally manufactured and traditional products by setting up stalls, as a mark of recognition for their contribution to strengthening the local economy and preserving indigenous skills.
Later Ashok Koul chaired an organizational review meeting with BJP Srinagar district and constituency presidents. The meeting was attended by Anwar Khan, Arif Raja, Bilal Parray, Advocate Sheikh Salman, district office bearers, constituency presidents, and Morcha presidents. Detailed discussions were held on organizational strengthening, public outreach, and addressing key public welfare issues.
Ashok Koul, addressing the meeting, focused on strengthening the organizational structure at the ground level. He stressed the need for disciplined cadre-building, regular meetings at booth and Mandal levels, and sustained outreach programmes. He reviewed the organizational work carried out in recent months and held detailed discussions on upcoming party programmes in Srinagar district
Anwar Khan stressed the party functionaries to remain closely connected with the people, proactively address local concerns, and effectively communicate the achievements and policies of the BJP-led Government.
