JAMMU, Oct 29: The Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society (VKWS) held its Annual General Meeting at Jammu Club today, where members reviewed the society’s welfare initiatives and discussed future plans for educational support.
President VKWS Rashmi (Ruby) Sharma welcomed the participants and informed them that over 700 students are studying in two VKWS schools at Rajeev Nagar and Trikuta Nagar.
She said the society provides free education up to Class 8 and assists students in continuing higher studies in Government schools, along with vocational training support.
Working President Bharat Bhushan Gupta presented the detailed audit report and answered members’ queries.
Meanwhile, the election of the Executive Committee and Management Committee was also conducted by the Returning Officer, with Rashmi (Ruby) Sharma elected as President, Bharat Bhushan as Working President, Kailash Gupta as Vice President, Chandra Gupta as Secretary, Sukriti Choudhary as Joint Secretary, Raj Kumari as Deputy Secretary, and Neeta Mehta as Treasurer.
Further, the Executive committee nominated Dr Richa Arora, Kamal Sharma, Anita Sharma, Kusum Gupta, Veena Sharma, Lata Gupta, Uma Nagotra, Kamla Gupta, Sandhya Abrol, Shashi Sharma, and Sushma Nayyar as Members of the Management Committee.
Post nomination, the Members were encouraged to contribute liberally for the welfare of students.
Secretary Chandra Gupta thanked all members for their active participation in the AGM.
