JAMMU, Apr 22: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society (VKWS) elected its office bearers in its general body meeting held here today.
During the meeting, the participants elected 17 members for management committee, who further elected office bearers of the Society for next three years.
The office bearers included Prof Ved Kumari Ghai as president, Ruby Sharma as working president, Kailash Gupta as vice-president, Ashok Chaturvedi as secretary, Sukriti Chaudhary as joint secretary, Dr Raj Kumari as deputy secretary and Prof DK Gupta as treasurer.
Meanwhile, Prof Ghai formed five committees to smoothly execute various works of the society. She also nominated members from the managing body to head these committees.
Prof Champa Sharma was nominated to head committee for adult education program, Ashok Chaturvedi to head committee for scholarships to rural students, Ruby Sharma to head committee for cultural activities of children, Sukriti Chaudhary to head management committee of society’s Narwal school and Neeta Mehta to head management committee of Trikuta Nagar school.
