JAMMU, Feb 2: Vision Kashmir while reiterating its opposition for making NAFSA forms mandatory for displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today said when this form was conceived for labourers migrating from one State to another to avail ration benefits what logic was applied to impose it on the displaced people from Kashmir who have become refugees within their own State.
The Vision Kashmir publicity secretary, Ramesh Sopori in a statement issued here, today demanded that the status quo in ration entitlement as per the old system be maintained without any break, until all deficiencies and ambiguities in NFSA are fully rectified, cash assistance be enhanced immediately which has not been increased for last one decade.
Strongly advocating for hike in cash assistance, the Vision Kashmir said in view of rising prices of essential commodities the displaced people dependent on cash relief are facing many difficulties in making their both ends meet.
It said does the administration seriously believe that a family of four or more people can survive on a meagre cash assistance of Rs 13,000 per month. It further demanded immediate notification of five percent reservation for the displaced community in State and Central Government jobs, which is a long pending demand.
The Vision Kashmir also demanded rehabilitation of displaced people in accordance to their geo-political aspirations. The Government should announce a clear, time bound and transparent rehabilitation policy for displaced Pandits by taking the genuine leadership of community into confidence.
The Vision Kashmir has resolved to launch a decisive struggle for the survival of community in case administration continues to ignore the community.
